Host your first live event

From clicking New Live Event to going live, in seven steps.

A live event on Avatok is a ticketed, scheduled live broadcast. Here's how to run your first one.

1. Create the event

From Creator dashboard → Live events, click New live event. Enter a title, date and time, expected duration, cover photo, and a 100–200 word description of what attendees will get.

2. Set the price model

Choose ticketed (one price per seat) or hourly (viewers pay by the hour, billed as they leave). Set the price and pick user-pays or creator-pays mode.

3. Test your equipment

Use the test-broadcast tool 24 hours before the event. It runs the same streaming path as the real event without going public. Check video, audio, lighting, and bandwidth. See equipment and bandwidth for what to look for.

4. Promote the event

Share the public event URL on the channels your audience already follows. The most reliable promotion is a direct DM to your most engaged 20 followers a week out, then a public post 48 hours before.

5. Go live

Click Start broadcast from the event control room when it's time. The broadcast starts; the live chat opens; the tipping drawer is enabled if you turned it on at setup.

6. End cleanly

When you're done, click End broadcast. The platform stops the stream, files the recording (if you opted in to recording), and starts the settlement clock.

7. After the event

Your wallet credit lands within a few minutes of the end-of-broadcast event. Reviews open for attendees for 7 days. A public replay URL is available if you enabled recording.
