Refund policy
When you get a refund automatically, and how to request one.
Avatok issues automatic refunds in three situations and a manual review in the rest.
Automatic refunds
- Host no-show. The creator didn't join. You get a full refund to your original payment method. The creator gets nothing.
- Mutual no-show. Neither side joined. You get a full refund. No one is penalized.
- Cancellation within window. If you cancel within the creator's published cancellation window (typically 24 hours before the call), you get a full refund automatically.
What's not automatic
- You no-showed. The creator was present; you didn't join. Default policy is no refund; the creator earns the full price.
- Cancellation outside the window. Late cancellations follow the creator's policy — often no refund, sometimes a 50% refund. The policy is visible at checkout.
- You felt the call didn't deliver what was promised. We mediate. Write to support@avatok.ai with the booking id and what didn't match. We look at the listing, the chat, and any recording before deciding.
How long refunds take
Stripe initiates the refund the moment the disposition fires. The funds land on your card in 5–10 business days depending on your bank's processing speed. Some banks show the refund as a separate transaction; others reverse the original charge.
Chargebacks
Please write to us before you file a chargeback. Most cases that look refund-worthy get refunded faster through support than through your bank, and chargebacks come with permanent records on both sides.
