Takedown requests (DMCA)
How to file a copyright takedown notice and counter-notice.
Avatok complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you're a copyright holder and your work has been used on Avatok without permission, file a takedown notice and we'll act on it.
Where to send a DMCA notice
Email legal@avatok.ai with subject DMCA takedown. Include:
- Your full legal name and contact information.
- A description of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
- The URL(s) on Avatok where the allegedly infringing material can be found.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.
- A statement that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner, under penalty of perjury.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
- We acknowledge within 24 hours.
- If the notice is facially valid, we remove or disable the allegedly infringing content and notify the uploader.
- The uploader can file a counter-notice (see below). If they do, we forward it to you, and the content may be restored after 10–14 business days unless you've filed an action seeking a court order to restrain.
Counter-notices
If you're the uploader and you believe the takedown was filed in error, send a counter-notice to legal@avatok.ai with the same level of detail (identification of the material, statement under penalty of perjury, consent to jurisdiction, signature).
Repeat infringer policy
Accounts that accumulate three confirmed DMCA strikes within a rolling 12-month window are terminated under our repeat-infringer policy. Strikes can be challenged; confirmed strikes count.
Write to support@avatok.ai. We answer every email and we'd rather hear from you than have you give up.
