The full policy
This is the plain-English summary for creators. The binding terms are sections 6 and 7 of Payouts & Withdrawals — treat that page as authoritative.
What’s deducted before money reaches you
Two things can reduce a withdrawal below the number of tokens you’re cashing out:
- A transfer fee, which the policy allows on withdrawals. No fixed rate is published because it can vary by payout method and provider.
- GST, where it applies in India, charged in addition to the transfer fee.
Your own bank or payment provider may also apply its own charge on top of both of these. See Payouts & Withdrawals §6.
Tax withholding (for example, TDS)
Where Indian tax law requires withholding on marketplace payouts — TDS is the example given in the policy — avaTOK may withhold the required amount from your payout and remit it to the tax authorities. Similar withholding may apply in other jurisdictions if their law requires it. avaTOK may ask you for tax details before releasing a payout, and can decline the payout until they’re provided. See Payouts & Withdrawals §7.
Your own tax position
This page and the policy it summarises only describe what avaTOK withholds or deducts at the point of paying you out — they don’t tell you your total tax liability. You’re responsible for declaring your earnings and paying any tax due on them, and nothing here or on the Payouts & Withdrawals page is tax advice.
Where to check the current figures
During testing the withdrawal request doesn’t yet show a fee or tax breakdown, so the reliable way to check what will be deducted from a specific withdrawal is to ask support@avatok.ai before you confirm it.
If your tax situation involves more than one platform, other income, or you’re unsure what to declare, this is exactly the kind of question a chartered accountant is better placed to answer than a help article.
