Tokens, explained

Last updated September 11, 2026

The rate is fixed: 1 token = ₹1

Tokens are the unit you pay with everywhere on avaTOK — booking a session, buying a ticket to a live show, using an AI feature in the app. The rate never changes: one token is worth one Indian rupee. Top up ₹500 and your wallet is credited 500 tokens; there is no hidden conversion or bonus math.

Topping up

Top-ups are in Indian rupees and convert into tokens at that fixed 1:1 rate the moment they land in your wallet. India is the only market avaTOK serves while it is in this testing phase. Before you confirm any purchase, the token cost is shown up front — nothing is deducted without you seeing the number first.

What tokens are not

A token is an in-app unit of account, not a bank product. It is not a deposit, not e-money, not a security, and not a cryptocurrency. It does not earn interest, and it cannot be sent to another person’s account — the only way to move value out of avaTOK is a withdrawal (below). The full legal detail lives on the Tokens & Wallet policy page; this article is just the plain-English version.

Your balance

Your current balance and your recent activity are visible in the app at all times. Worth checking in on now and then, and worth flagging to support quickly if a number looks off.

Withdrawing unused tokens

Tokens you have not spent are not stuck. An unused balance can be withdrawn back to a verified UPI account linked to your Indian bank, subject to the same checks as a creator’s payout, including ID verification; during testing, withdrawals are limited to invited users. See Payouts & Withdrawals for the mechanics, minimums and timelines. Tokens you have already spent, on the other hand, are consumed — see Refunds & Cancellations for when a refund back into tokens (or back to your original payment method) applies instead.

Payments are still being tested

avaTOK’s payment and payout flows are currently running with a small number of invited users while the payment-gateway application is under review. During this period, if anything is charged to you in error, support will refund it in full — see Refunds & Cancellations for the details.
