The short version
Every paid booking on avaTOK — a live show ticket or a 1:1 consultation — has a platform fee taken out before the creator is paid. What a buyer sees at checkout is the listing price plus GST; avaTOK’s fee comes out of the creator’s side of that price, not on top of it. The binding wording is in the Marketplace Terms.
Why we’re not printing a fixed percentage right now
avaTOK is in a testing phase (see Refunds & Cancellations). The fee a creator sees while setting a price comes from a newer formula that isn’t yet used when bookings are actually paid out, so we’re not printing a percentage here — it could be out of date by the time you read it.
What determines your fee, in plain terms
- The price is set per hour by the creator when they create a listing.
- avaTOK takes a cut of that price before the rest is released to the creator. The cut is a single percentage of the booking price, set by avaTOK. The split is saved onto your order the moment you pay, and that saved split is what’s used when the creator is paid.
- The cut that actually gets applied when money moves is fixed onto that specific order the moment it’s created, and it’s what the creator sees on their payout, not a number that changes retroactively.
What we can promise, and what we can’t, right now
We can promise: the fee applied to a booking is fixed when the buyer pays and doesn’t change afterwards, and it’s taken automatically.
What we’re not printing here is a fixed percentage, because avaTOK can adjust it during testing. If you’re a creator and a payout doesn’t match what you expected, email support@avatok.ai with the booking reference and we’ll check it for you.

If a fee was deducted that doesn’t match what was shown to you at the time, contact us with the order or booking reference — see how to raise a billing issue in the Refunds & Cancellations policy, or write to support@avatok.ai. Because payments are still in testing, anything charged in error is refunded in full.
