After you submit a listing, it moves through a small set of statuses. Here’s what each one means and what you can expect at each stage.
The stages
- Draft — you’re still editing. Nothing is visible to buyers yet.
- In review (pending review) — you’ve submitted it. It’s sitting in the moderation queue, waiting for someone on the team to look at it. There’s no published turnaround time; check its status on My listings.
- Approved — a reviewer has signed off on the listing’s content. Approved isn’t the same as live — you (or the system) still need to publish it, and publishing checks the same requirements described in Create a listing.
- Rejected — a reviewer sent it back. You’ll see the reason and can edit and resubmit.
What a reviewer sees
A reviewer sees your listing’s content alongside every publish requirement it currently fails, if any — the same plain-language reasons you’d see yourself. They also see the timeline of everything that’s happened to the listing so far: submissions, approvals, rejections and edits, each attributed to the person who made it.
If a reviewer edits your listing
A reviewer can correct certain fields directly — things like the title, description, category, price, schedule, capacity, and similar content fields. They can’t change who owns the listing, its structural type, or its cover-photo pipeline.
If your listing was already approved, an edit like this doesn’t send it back to the queue — it keeps its approval, on the reasoning that the reviewer who fixed it is also the one who’d have to re-approve it. Every field that changed is recorded as a before/after in the listing’s history, and you can ask support@avatok.ai what was changed.
Separately, if you edit certain material fields on a listing that’s already been approved or published — its title, price, schedule, category, cover photos and similar — that edit can invalidate the existing review and send it back to pending review automatically, because what a reviewer signed off on is no longer what’s live.
Rejected listings
A rejected listing stays a draft you can fix and resubmit. There’s no separate appeals process described here — edit the listing to address the stated reason and send it for review again.
